Cashel Street, Christchurch: Before and After the February 22nd Earthquake

Both photos are views looking down Cashel Street towards the Bridge of Rememberance War Memorial. The only difference being, that the top one was before that fateful day in February.
I have fond memories of visiting some great shops in this street and hanging out with my Christchurch mates.

we live in Christchurch and so far we are nearly up to 8,000 earthquakes so biggies and lots of small ones. They all scaree the daylights out of us and we are not allowed into the C.B.D to see just what the devastation is as far as demolished buildings go. I cannot watch TV when it goes through the damaged buildings as it just brings me to tears amd I am not the only one. Your photo says it all - just sad, sad, sad.

Hi Helen. It's very sad indeed. It will be much better, once the seismic activity subsides, then all the affected people can start to look ahead and plan for a brighter future, whilst still remembering those who perished. A good mate of mine lost his uncle when a church building collapsed on him in February.
