LA Galaxy vs Oceania All Stars (Mt Smart Stadium) Auckland)

Alan Gordon has just scored a second goal, from a great Beckham pass, for LA Galaxy against Oceania All-Stars and the match is only 13 minutes old!

This game looks like it will become a one way scorefest.

Update: McDonald scores on the half hour mark from a Beckham corner kick.

No change in the score for the rest of the game. However, Edgar Davids injected a lot of his flair into the second half.

Full Time:
LA Galaxy 3 Oceania All Stars 0

Hi Wayne, this game was average. The problem is that the home team had no supporters, because apart from a few players, no one knew the team. There were too many randoms and no sense of belonging for the fans. At least when Becks played in Wellington, there was a sense of ownership of the Phoenix for the Yellow Fever members!

Hi Scotty.

That's why this post was brief!

As i just concentrated on the few highlights.

Apart from most of the Oceanic players being either unknowns or in some cases of non-Oceanic origins. the was little connection for the average Aucklander to appreciate (aside, from the obvious Beckham hype and the odd mad Dutch person probably turning up to see Davids play).
Aucklanders tend to have more loyal followings for rugby league and union.
Wellington seems to be the soccer capital of New Zealand.
